E-book project & the NWN1 Module Dreamcatcher 3

Hey everyone, glad you wanted to pay me a visit :) As you may or may not know, I wrote and designed NWN modules between the years 2003-2009 , and I've had a nagging feeling for a long time that I want to do something more with them.  But what,  has been the main question. I've finally come to a conclusion: I'm going to write e-book versions of them . And this is going to be the place where I tell you about it.  But what about the PC-character? Players have made their own hero or heroine while playing my NWN mods, so how would this take form within an e-book? Well, I need to cement some kind of main character in order for an E-book format to work.  I've reflected upon this a lot as well, and when it comes to other games, I usually tend to use the same name for my characters. And especially when it comes to the Mass Effect & Dragon Age games.  A recurring name, which I actually used for the very first time in NWN (namely in  Stefan Gagne's The ...

NWN1 Module: Shadow from a Soul on Fire

Hey everyone :) Today, first and foremost, I was pleasantly suprised to see that a new module has been released from one of my favorite NWN1 Authors -- namely --  Chris Huntoon!   This new module will definitely be on the forefront of my playlist for the coming weeks! :P  Chris just releasing a new module made me think of his older work ... one that, still to this day, is one of my favorites among NWN1 modules.  Namely Shadow from a Soul of Fire  (SSF), whose mere name sends chills down my spine. Yeah, that's how much I love it.  So... why do I love it so much? It's (1) mysterious ... it's (2) dark ... and (3) creepy, in a cozy way . A trinity that I personally prefer very much.  Most of Chris' work is, in one way or another, inspired by Lovecraft , so if you're familiar with Lovecraft's work, then you'll feel right at home.  If not... then you can feel intrigued, since Lovecraft is considered to be one of the worlds most influential horror auth...

NEW NWN-ADVENTURE: The Official Campaign

Hey everyone, hope everything is well with you all! 😀  At the end of last year I actually began replaying the Official Campaign (OC) for Neverwinter Nights! I'm having a blast, at lot more fun than I thought I would, actually.  I mean, the campaign is old, the game was first released in 2002 and my first thoughts were: I really love playing Neverwinter Nights modules and I would really like to love the OC as well, but does it still hold today? And yes, in my opinion, it does.  I love the characters (especially Linu, she's my NWN-OC-waifu 😉) and I personally feel the Bioware writing in them.  Sure, they're more primitively written than characters from Mass Effect, but that isn't especially strange, since Neverwinter Nights actually has its 20th year anniversary this year . But for its time, the characters are really great. 😍  The OC is especially nice when played with Beamdog's Enhanced Edition . If you haven't picked it up yet, I really recommend that you do...

The Storm and Journey gets the EE treatment!

Hi everyone. :) Thanks to NWN community member Mmat , I've just uploaded Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition versions of my duology modules, which consists of: Calm before the Storm   (Part 1 of the Duology) & A New Journey Begins (Part 2 of the Duology) If you already own Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and want to try this duology out (or maybe revisit it with improved graphics and performance?), then click/touch on the two links above and in the Files section on each page, look for "The EE-version of CbtS" and "The EE-version of ANJB" , respectively.  If you don't own NWN: EE and want to buy it, you can do so through the links below: *  NWN: EE on STEAM *  NWN: EE on GoG (Includes the original Diamond Edition of NWN) In either case, if you decide to try them out or revisit them, then I'd appreciate if you'd leave a vote on the Neverwinter Vault once you're done. 💖 I personally see these two module adventures as my own ve...

Woah -- a DOUBLE POST DAY?! Yeah.

Hi again, long time, eh? ;)  Just wanted to tell ya that I just submitted my Memorial Stone to the Sea of Stars Kickstarter game .  What's a memorial stone, you ask? Well, as a backer of the game (which I am) on specific backer tiers, you got the opportunity to design a grave stone with text that will be placed in a crypt within the game. I pondered for awhile what my memorial stone text would be and then it hit me -- of course, my NWN-modules needs to be honored. I mean, these modules are also ours (yeah, I mean you ;) ), since you too have a relationship to them after having played them. So, in a way, this memorial stone honors the memory of the adventures we've shared together in the NWN-modules that I created, for both you and me to enjoy. 💗 Here's how the memorial stone (with it's text) is going to look like  within the game : Sea of Stars is heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger and other similar 90s RPGs, so if that's your cup of tea, then be sure to wishlist ...

The Horror is now also Eighteen

Today, Surviving Horror 1 turned 18. Maan, how time flies. Love ya so much! <3  (Please try it if you haven't already, or play it again for old times sake) Birger out. 👊

The Storm that lasted for 18 years...

... yeah, that sounded quite ominous, didn't it? 😉 But it's not a real storm I'm talking about ( thank god!  😋). What I'm really talking about, is that my very first Neverwinter Nights module has it's 18th birthday today! 😄 This day 18 years ago, I released my first public work, in the form of Calm before the Storm . The main screenshot for the original Calm before the Storm... ... and the main screenshot for the Remake. As you can see in the images above, I made a Remake for Calm before the Storm (CbtS) , which was released in 2008, 5 years after the original. Since CbtS was my very first module, it understandably didn't have the polish that my later modules had. To remedy this, I decided to improve the whole experience in the form of a full remake, with better scripting, better lightning, better dialog and new music. 💟 Another thing that struck me just now, that I haven't told you guys before, is that I had already started working on A New Journey Be...
