The Storm that lasted for 18 years...

... yeah, that sounded quite ominous, didn't it? 😉 But it's not a real storm I'm talking about (thank god! 😋). What I'm really talking about, is that my very first Neverwinter Nights module has it's 18th birthday today! 😄 This day 18 years ago, I released my first public work, in the form of Calm before the Storm.

... and the main screenshot for the Remake.

As you can see in the images above, I made a Remake for Calm before the Storm (CbtS), which was released in 2008, 5 years after the original. Since CbtS was my very first module, it understandably didn't have the polish that my later modules had. To remedy this, I decided to improve the whole experience in the form of a full remake, with better scripting, better lightning, better dialog and new music. 💟

Another thing that struck me just now, that I haven't told you guys before, is that I had already started working on A New Journey Begins (the sequel to CbtS) when I released the first version of CbtS. Man, it sure was fun to develop Neverwinter Nights modules at the time. 😌

Yeah, you might recognize part of that quote from another game... Kingdom Hearts 1. 😉 I just couldn't help myself, since I thought that quote blended so well into the story of A New Journey Begins.

The original quote from Kingdom Hearts.

To celebrate CbtS's 18th birthday, I thought I'd upload the intro movie to the original version of CbtS. This intro video is not available online anymore since the original CbtS-module was deleted from the nwvault (since the remake is a better version of the original in all possible ways). So this post will be the only place where you can watch this mythical intro movie. And I'm uploading it just for you, my loyal followers. 😊💖 Enjoy!

Birthday Post & Nostalgic Humor from Old Neverwinter Vault 🎁😂

Birthday cake, for everyone  😉 Hey everyone, it's my birthday today! 🥳🎉 All birthday wishes in the comments are more than welcome... 😋🎁 Today I spent a while watching some nostalgic NWN-related humor from the good ol' days, and I thought to myself why not share my experiences with you guys?  So that's what I'm gonna do. 😄 A Neverwinter Nights Comedy Series Neverending Nights was / is an awesome and incredibly funny NWN-comedy series that (I think) was featured on the old Neverwinter Vault, from time, to time.  It tells the tale of an odd hero duo consisting of  Grayson the fighter  and Peter the ranger , and their loony misadventures.  If you haven't watched the series before, then here's an episode (one of my favorites, actually) that will give you a feel of what to expect from the rest of the series: If you found the above episode to your liking, either for the first time, or maybe you'd like to rewatch the series; then you'll find all 65 e...

LEGACY POST: Birger's Neverwinter Nights Podcast Interview 🔊💙

Since it has been a while ago that Neverwinter Nights Podcast's website got taken down, and since I don't want to rely on external website links for any of my interviews anymore, I decide to host my own podcast interview from 2008 here on the blog instead. 😃 Which is a great way to keep sharing it with you guys 😊💙, just as I did with my Golden Dragon Interview .  (Even though the original place for NWNP has been lost, all episodes can still be found via  Neverending Nights, since they   have been gracious enough to host them.  In case you want to listen to them -- you can find the links in the blog menu / sidebar ) I also want to mention that it was a whole lot of fun participating in this interview (which was also my very first english interview).  And Michele, who interviewed me, is both professional and really sweet! Michele, if you happen to read this, then please email me -- I would love to reconnect! 😊 I am SO GLAD and SO GRATEFUL for having gotten t...
