PROGRESS, CELEBRATION & NEW BIRGER NWN ADVENTURES
So, what's been going on since last time we met? I've worked quite a bit on improving and tweaking my Patreon-page and I've FINALLY found some time to write on my E-book "Surviving Horror 1"! 😋
There's actually a public sneak peak for its prologue that you can check out here. I'm really proud of what my first book is turning into! 😊
Another thing that is worth celebrating: I've gotten my first 2 Patrons! 😍 As you may, or may not heard before -- I've promised to develop and release a shorter Neverwinter Nights Adventure when each of my 10 Patreon Goals are reached.
Thanks to the pledge of my first 2 patrons (THANK YOU once again for your support -- I'm truly grateful!), we've moved a lot closer to reaching GOAL 1 (see the image below).
GOAL 1, as seen on my Patreon-page. |
GOAL 1 is reached when the total monthly sum from all of my Patrons reaches 200 SEK (which equals about 20 dollars).
This means if just 6 of you chose to support me by becoming one of my Bronze Patrons, I would start right away on developing Birger's next Neverwinter Nights adventure! 😃
I'm also planning to post polls about the direction of this NWN-adventure back on my Patreon when the goal is reached as well, among other stuff. 😊 I'd be so grateful if you'd like to support me! 💖
GAME-MUSIC-DEVELOPER-TALK
As I'm writing this, I'm listening to Toby Fox's songs Smart Race & Attack of the Killer Queen (among others) for his upcoming video game Deltarune (the first 2 chapters are free and available right now!).When I develop games myself, I always do my best to create the best atmosphere possible. How do I do that?
By choosing fitting music for each scene -- a music track that manages to catch the emotion of the scene -- as well as choosing fitting sound effects, that backs up the music.
I truly love how the dark knights themes turned out in Surviving Horror 2, for example. Man, just gives me chills thinking about it. 😋 I'm so proud of how it turned out!
In my own design, I also love to use music pieces that uses a theme that has variations. Toby Fox also does this really well.
Well, it's kinda hard for me to fully explain what I mean in text, so I'll just post two example below, which are also from Deltarune. Listen to them in order, and listen for similarities in them:
Music track 2: Elegant Entrance
Do you hear the similarities? Pretty cool, huh? 😎 I love that kind of stuff!
Hmm... maybe I should turn this blog into an E-book and Video Game-development blog instead of a Neverwinter Nights blog? What do you think?
Please let me know your thoughts regarding this in the comments to this post. 😊
POLL-RESULTS FROM LAST POST
Last post I asked all of you "Which of Birger's content ARE *YOU* HERE FOR?" This is the results:
Last posts poll-results. [CLICK / TOUCH image to enlarge] |
It's pretty close between all the answers, so it's still kinda hard for me to tell what kind of content you'd all like to see the most.
I'd be really grateful if more of you'd like to participate in this poll, so I'm posting the same poll again below (if you can't see the poll, then temporary disable your ad-blocker, and it should appear):
THIS WEEKS NWN-RECOMMENDATION
This one is a true hidden gem, since I had to dig through the back-archives of the neverwinter vault in order to even find it (it won't appear if you use the search bar). It's one of my personal favorites too. It's called Resident MEDIEVAL.It's only a demo, but I think this module is the one that closest recreates the feel of the Resident Evil games -- the same thing I aimed to do with my Surviving Horror series.
Here's hoping you'll have some fun with this module -- maybe for this weekend? 😎
Also, remember that you'll gain immediate access to my full NWN-module-list if you become one of my Silver Patrons back on Patreon. This list contains all of my favorite modules and all modules that I plan to play in the future.
That's all for now -- see you next time. 😄
Birger out. ✌💖
