Gagne's Arcade

Hey everyone :) This week during the evenings I've been playing Stefan Gagne's Arcade Spirits . It's a cozy visual novel game that focuses on the arcade culture (shocker: the game even takes place in an arcade!). If you're familiar with Stefan Gagne's previous games or novels, then you're in for a treat -- in case you don't know who he is, he's the one who created The HeX Coda Neverwinter Nights module (among others). The HeX Coda, is one of my all-time favorite NWN-modules, btw! ^_^ Have a nice weekend, guys and gals, Birger out. 👊

PACK 2 of... of what? Let's see...

Hey everyone, :) Just wanted to let you know that I just released PACK 2 , containing more Steam Grids for some of my favorite Neverwinter Nights Modules, just for you! :P Birger out 👊

Horrid Anniversary

Hey everyone :) My original fan movie "Silent Hill: Horrid Truth" has its 12-year anniversary today! Maan, how time flies. My brother, who plays the role of The Victim , has turned 25 today too, which is awesome! :) I wish you all, a happy weekend! Birger out 👊

Halloween Anniversary!

Hey there, everyone :) My Halloween Neverwinter Nights module Samhain's Eve has it's 10-Year Anniversary today! So, if you'd like something short, fun and scary to play this Halloween, then why not give it a download ? :) Happy Halloween, to you all! 👋💀 Birger out. 👊

Interactive Movie, Starring YOU

Hey there everyone :) Last night, I finished up my latest assignment for my studies in Digital Design. It's an interactive movie, where YOU, as the viewer, plays the main character. I thought I'd share it with you, my loyal followers. ^_^ The movie is in swedish but even if you don't know swedish, I think you'll enjoy it anyway (there's a lot of creepy music and sound effects). I'll give you a synopsis in english, before we begin: "The Android Catastrophe in Döderhult is a thrilling and mysterious survival tale that takes place in the future, where you as the viewer plays the main character. Your goal is to find supplies on the way and finally get yourself to safety, within The Church of Döderhult. Do you have what it takes to survive...?" Here's the link: Androidkatastrofen i Döderhult Please let me know, by leaving a comment on this post or by sending me a message through the contact form above, if you'd like to see a version ...

Havssalt ;)

My swedish pals at YCJY Games (they also made The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human ) just released their latest game, inspired by Lovecraft ian horror! I'm a Kickstarter Backer for both this game, and for The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, so I'd really appriciate it if you'd like to check out their new game . :) Here's the Steam description: Sea Salt is a dark fantasy reverse horror action-strategy game where you play as the nightmarish force of Dagon by controlling and growing a horde of minions. Birger out. 👊

Chorus!

Did you know, that one of Bioware's leadwriters for Dragon Age, David Gaider , no longer works at Bioware? Do you know why, this necessarily isn't a bad thing anymore? Because he and some collegues of his, has formed a new studio called Summarfall Studios , that recently released a crowdfunding campaign for their first game (the name which you can guess from the titel of this post) -- Chorus! I love Gaider's work, so I just decided to become a backer, myself. 😊 Can you guess the genre for this game? Well, since it's Gaider, you can start by checking RPG , that's a given. Awesomely written dialog and dialog choices? Check. Romance? Check. But can you giess  what the main genre is? They've actually invented a completely new genre ---  adventure musical . Check out Chorus, watch the trailer and read more on Fig (and maybe become a Backer, just like I did?) Birger out. 👊

Arrr!

I finished the NWN Premium Module "Pirates of the Swordcoast" , last night. I gotta say... this is actually one of my favorites, so far. 😏 A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far --- no, wait 😕 -- just a long time ago suffices 😉, I completed the NWN Premium Modules Witch's Wake , Kingmaker , and Shadow Guard (all three of these are included in Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition , in case you didn't know), but I never finished Pirates of the Swordcoast when it first came out. Mostly because you had to pay with a credit card (I didn't own one, at the time) in order to download it. I warmly recommend Pirates of the Swordcoast, in case you want something to rekindle your old love (or start your love, for the first time) for Neverwinter Nights. You can buy and download Pirates,  here . The next NWN stop for me will be the newly released premium module Tyrants of the Moonsea . After that, I'm looking forward to playing Darkness over Daggerford  a...

A Better World & The Lonely Wolf

Here's a TED-Talk that I stumbled upon during my current education -- I highly recommend it! The title speaks for itself, I think... ;) Gaming can make a better world Ever heard of the Lone Wolf gamebooks , created by   Joe Dever?   I'd like to recommend you the  Lone Wolf Nintendo DS games (the first five gamebooks have DS games so far) created by Frédéric Calendini . These are homebrews, so you'll need a modded DS (you'll find instructions on the website). Have a nice weekend, guys and gals! 😄 Birger out. 👊

A Completely New Detective!

5 years ago, I became a backer of the mystery-adventure game Jenny LeClue and this thursday -- is the game's RELEASE DATE!  Here's some links if you'd like to check out the game yourself: Steam Twitter Youtube Facebook Birger out. 👊

What is "Solasta"?

You like Baldur's Gate , or any similar RPG? Would you like to have those same feelings again but at the same time, feel something new? Maybe you'd like to be able to... jump? Would you like to... create your own party? With full  VOICE ACTING? I was just thinking about you 😉, so lets share this Kickstarter game , then: Solasta: Crown of the Magister Do you know what the best part is? There's a DEMO (you'll find it in the link above 👆)! 😎 Birger out. 👊

A Revelation...

Hey there, guys and gals! Guess who's baaack?! 😄 ...no, not Arnold. 😵 Anyway... 😏 I just had an epiphany this week, that I'd like to share with you all. I'll be honest... I've been quite addicted to both Youtube- and Facebook browsing, for quite a long time. Maybe you recognize the feeling? Yeah, dopamine . For me, this kind of spinned out of hand. While I'm studying Digital Design, I have a pretty tight schedule during the week, and the longer I linger, the longer I need to study. I study from home, which is great... and at the same time, it takes a lot of discipline. As soon as I've gotten a couple of minutes of break, or when I've taken a longer break... I've immediatly started browsing. Either Youtube, or Facebook. Or both (not at the same time though, thank god!). The problem has been, that I haven't had any time left for doing the things that I REALLY, feel like doing (except for in the evenings). Eventually, I kind of got this emp...

Just released these two items to the NWVAULT...

Steam Grids for Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 & Mummy Dust - Puzzle Solutions and Special-Item Functions Enjoy. ;) Birger out. 👊 (yeah, this was a quick one 😏 )

Sweet Summer... how I've missed thee

Just a quick update. Today, I've finished my first year on Digital Design! Feels AWESOME!  Now I have this weekend to look forward too and on monday... summer classes. Yeah, you read that right. Summer. Classes. Might sound boring to you at first but, no... not this time. This summer class' theme is, at a matter of fact,  Studies of Power ... in the world of Game of Thrones . :P F-yeah! So, I wish you all an awesome summer! ^_^ Birger out.  👊

Proto-Prototyping... wait, what?

Sooo... I made two prototypes this week. For web design. I actually made a portfolio of sorts for some of my Neverwinter Nights games and Youtube movies. Let me know if you'd like to have a look. 😊  It was pretty cool, tough as always, but fun too.  I sat in front of Adobe  Illustrator  and InVision about 14 hours yesterday. No, I usally don't study that long... yesterday was an exception. I've done it once or twice before, this past year.  Maan... I've almost finished my first year on Digital Design. 7th of june is my last day for the year. Time sure flies...👼 I might finish either Yuppie Psycho or Kathy Rain this weekend. Or, we'll just end up watching a movie or two instead. 😂 So, how have you all been? Let's talk in the comments! ^_^ SPOTLIGHT-TIME: No spotlight this week, unfortunately! 😛 NOTICE:  Remember, that  you  can have your own content spotlighted next week! It can be anything, and it doesn't hav...

European Union - Let's vote!

It's friiiday-time! 😜 I'd like to start by saying: if you, like me, live in the European Union, please make sure to vote! Me and my girlfriend prevoted this thursday. We voted for our climate and for future generations, first and foremost. It would make me really happy, if you would do that too. 💚 I've just reached the last world on Bloo Kid 1 . I really dig that game. 😁 Yeah, I know I talked about this game last week, but it sure deserves it. 😉 Another game that I really dig is Yuppie Psycho . It's a pixelated, puzzlefilled, horror-adventure-game, with an anime feel to it. Here's the game's description from steam: "Join Brian Pasternack on his first day at one of the world’s largest companies, Sintracorp. Uncertain, unprepared, and massively unqualified, will Pasternack have what it takes to shine in Sintracorp’s hierarchy? It all depends on how he performs on his first assignment… and whether he survives it." I've been playing ...

Wedding Incoming...

This week I don't have that much to talk about. It's been a tough week with a full-focus on my interaction design course . Observations, interviews and report-writing. 👀 Tomorrow, my sister is getting married! Woah! She's three years younger than me. It feels really unreal that one of my siblings is getting married. Let's wish them the best of luck! 😍 Just remembered... I'm playing Bloo Kid on Android right now. 😤 I love it! It's a platformer, like Mario, but it takes place on one screen at a time. I feel very nostalgic while playing it. 😏 Maybe you'd like it too? The game also has a sequel, that plays just like a regular Mario-game. Are you into typography?  In case you are, I'd like to recommend this website . It showcases Google Font Pairings, that fit really well together. Typography is a big part of my Digital Design education.  SPOTLIGHT-TIME: This week, another of my fellow students, Miranda , asked to have her instagram ...

Spleen-Power

It's bloggin' tiiiime! 😜 This week of Digital Design has been pretty tough, to be honest. I've had two bigger examinations (exams) and one re-examination. Right now, I'm studying Graphic design for websites and Interaction design and creativity . Even though it's been tough, it's also been fun. 😀 I always feel very satisfied after having submitted a larger project. And tired. Very. Tired. 😫 I'm glad it's weekend now. 😉 I'd like to share with you a Kickstarter-project for a 2D action RPG & Persona style game  that I came across earlier this week, called Spleen . I really love the artstyle and music for this one! The game reminds me of Kingdom Hearts , a lot. The game-developers has also made  hand-painted watercolor backgrounds!  😍 So, if you have some spare cash, then I'd recommend helping these guys out! I'm going to do that myself, actually. 🙆 SPOTLIGHT-TIME: This week one of my fellow students, William Mauritzso...

Steampunk-speed ahead!

Hey everyone, hope things are great with you! :) What happened on Digital Design this week? Well, a lot of different things but the most fun thing was that I actually made my first foodrecipe, ever! Foodrecpie...? Weren't you studying Digital Design? I sure am. ;) I'm studying creativity, right now. Creativity fits well into the food-universe, as well. Especially when you need to come up with a recipe no one else has done before! If you're interested in knowing what I came up with, leave a comment and I'll tell you in the comment-section! :) I'd like to share with you a movie-project called "Rädslans Dörr" ( Door of Fear ), that I made back in december last year. It was for one of my courses in Digital Design. The movie is in swedish, but I think you'll manage. There's not that much dialog and the story itself is pretty self-explanatory.  This movie-link is just for you , my blogreaders, since the movie isn't open to the public. Plea...

Tales, Forms and Designs...

Hey there, guys and gals! It's been awhile. ;) I'd like to share a recently released NWN1 module with you, called:  "The Tale of Fur and Frost" . I haven't taken the time to play it yet, but it looks mighty interesting. The mod focuses on the Druid-class, which is something I haven't seen before (and I mean, I've played NWN1 since it came out, so that's always something). Might be worth checking it out. So, what's new? I've added a Contactform at the top of this page, in case you want to send me an email (would love to hear from you!). I'm currently studying Digital Design -- it's a distance-education (don't know if that's the correct term outside of Sweden, though), so that's pretty sweet. I'll try posting from time to time. I kinda feel like putting this old blog, back in business. ^_^ Would love to hear from you, so please leave a comment or send me an email -- both works. :) So -- a blogreader question...
